What is a Reverse Calabash - RC meerschaum pipe?

Imp and srv Reverse Calabash Pipes are specially engineered meerschaum pipes for the coolest, driest, smoothest smoking experience.
We create an extra air chamber after the bowl, in the shank of the stem. This chamber acts like a mini "expansion chamber" for the smoke. Smoke settles down in this room after it passes the bowl just like how it settles down in the gourd calabash pipes. In other words, this special engineering technique gives a gourd calabash meerschaum pipe effect. Traditional gourd Calabash pipes have a gourd and meerschaum insert; smoke spirals and cools in the large gourd which is the body of the pipe. Our IMP and srv Reverse Calabash Pipes have a very similar cooling concept but flips the design—chamber is after the bowl in the shank of the pipe, that's why it is called "reverse calabash".
Reverse calabash pipes are preferred for; reducing the tongue bite, enhancing flavor, having less moisture, and also easier to use for longer periods.
